Lemon and Fennel Cream Pasta Sauce

Jellied Cream.
Like it? Had it?
Thickened cream.
Never knew it.
Cream + Gelatine.
What a fraud.

Process for coming up with this:
Ubaldi Saccotini al Salmone -> Lemon-> Cream -> Fresh Parsley Fennel->Small Bottle of Pinot Chardy Sparklin'.

Saccotini al Salmone look like little wontons. Grated the lemon peel of two lemons finely, cooked in little butter for a minute or two. In went the sparkling, simmered for a few minutes. Cup of whipping cream. Simmer and stir for another two with a tbs of fennel leaves. Pour over the Saccotini and add some parmesan.

Fresh and tart creamy with the fennel adding an unexpected flavour disorient. Liked it a lot. A lot. Saccotini could have gone harder with the salmon, but why not just have fresh pasta with smoked salmon. Capers?

Hi Anthony,

Is this another scanned food? The pizza looked much better. This one sounds great though.

Yep it's scanned though I should clarify that the scanned foodstuff is a chocolate eclair and not my pasta.

Hi Anthony,

I thought it might have been an eclair....

Yeah it's one of those things that if it's not an eclair then you don't even want to think of the alternatives. Top shelf cakes when I was a kid and to think I pined for twinkies.

Hi Anthony,

Twinkies? URGH! Haven't had one of those in ages...it has to be at least 25 years. Do you know that I've read somewhere that in the South, they serve "deep-fried" Twinkies? As if they weren't fattening and totally devoid of nutrition already.

Another reason to be unimpressed with the South. There I was thinking Joe Dirt was a comedy.

Twinkies. They were always advertised in comics when I was a kid and seemed like such a whiz bang thing and I was pretty bummed we didn't have them here (along with snow, two story houses, and sea monkeys). A bit skeptical later but I was amazed when I first went to the states how genuinely appalling they were. Don't know how Mr Twinkie sleeps at night really.
