Don't rightly know but somebody was piling it on their chips.

Salt that just pretends to be salty?

Hey choice link on the second comment but if it doesn't contain chicken and it isn't exclusively for chicken what the hell is chicken doing there?

Don't laugh. I used to buy JANES KRAZY MIXED UP SALT by the half dozen every time I saw it available. In fact our family came to regard it as a staple and one important food group. We had it on sardines, tomatoes, spuds, meat, bread and olive oil and anything else we could shake it on.

Then all of a sudden about 6 months ago I couldn't find it ANYWHERE. I looked up the web - No Australian contact for distribution.

So in a panic I eventuially bought a whole lot of cheep imitations and schlock ups. One of these was Chicken Salt. No way did it approach Janes but let me tell you - when your are addicted even ground up cold and flu pills have their attractions.

Janes Krazy Mixed Up Salt - that K makes it even krazier. I remember seeing it at a few international stores back in Japan but not over here. I'll keep a beady eye out- we may just be getting stock in from over East here. As for ground up cold tablets, it's Sudies or nothing - don't let them pharmacists bully you into generics.

For the love of god, that triangle on the packet makes it look like a process diagram. My hunch is chicken salt is evil - garlic powder there's one way to have garlic and it's not in fooking powder,

Cheers for the compliment, and from a fellow sweary gemini too. Yabbies - good.

Oh come on Rob, a better invention than the Bedazzler?

Something very odd about the teenage palate, I used to sit down and get through a whole tube of condensed milk.

Funny old world blogging, spend half a day making something and you get two comments, two nouns and three punctuation marks and whammo.

i noticed that too. spend too much time setting up a shot and/or coming up with a recipe, turns out the only person interested is me. or you.

WHAT IS Jane's Krazy Mixed Up Salt? It can't be salt with an identity crisis, can it? Or with multiple personalities? And if it's so mixed up, why do so many people love it? I've got a recipe that calls for it, but if I don't have to spend a ton of money to have it shipped here, I'd be willing to substitute a homemade version. (As long as I don't have to add instant buffalo, that is.)

Krazy Jane's as I call it is the best seasoning ever made. It is magical on meat. It goes great with grilled vegatables, and I use it on roasted red potatoes. It is my secret ingredient. My wife ased me "what are you going to do if they stop making that stuff?" I said I would have to buy many cases in the unlikely event that the unthinkable should happen.
