Sausage Factory

I correspond:
Most are planned in some way and I'd be fibbing if I said there wasn't a fair amount of thought and work in each one , even the breezy ones, especially the breezy ones. There'll be a core idea and the rest will fall in place around it. The beer one was a return to the regular friday beer gig and I happened to see a beer ad by John Steinbeck in an old Spy magazine of mine so I thought I'd use that. Hot thirsty work made me think Emu Bitter. It also made me think of "dry as a lime-burner's boot", so the location was where I spilt concrete while rendering out the back and there are a few limes in the picture as a visual malapropism.By coincidence, the limes are the same colour as the label. The use of "courier"matched the original typewritten letter in the add and the strikethrough was a way of showing that it was taken from somewhere else without spoiling the obvious confection of the post. Thirsty work.
Look I'm not suggesting you go out and make cliff notes for blogs but I'd be gutted if I thought people spent hours making their food, and five minutes writing about it (though thrilled if the reverse were true - hence EoMEoTE). So if anyone else wants to pop the back off a post (foodie or no), be my guest.

I, being nosy, would love it.

the sticker on the back of mine says "Danger!! Don't Remove Back Cover!!"
So the inner workings will remain a mystery. Haven't even read the manual.

but apparently you are fine with those who spend five minutes making her food, 3 hours photographing it, and five minutes writing about it :-D

geez tokyo goat - I have a sign like that, but on my front door - so far, the most dangerous thing found within though, has been the odour - and yet strangly, the same is also true of my microwave - do you have crusty bits of exploded food sticking to the top of yours?
If that is the safe part, I dread to imagine what the dangerous part looks like.

Anthony, I am in awe of your ability to post your photos - let alone how you make them look so great - that val's day menu was truly the barry white of recipes, fantastic.

I have been attempting to use 'hello' for my photos and it has been a real fly in my bloggery ointment.

Spiceblog's fotos make me hungry!

Re. the early exams - as an external student, I am one of those for whom there is no rest, plus exams quarterly... sigh... next they'll bring out the rack...

Absolutely. I'd spend as much time thinking about how you do your photos as your dishes and you do too. As for writing

"warm with a wine sauce? cool in a compote? with ice? with cream? with ice cream?!"

This stuff doesn't write itself.

I think it's time we recognised microwaves as the technonlogical dead end they are.

Postings easy, flickr offers the code for each pic in five different sizes. Easy. Photos are just a matter of getting the light right - a tripod helps. If I do a speccy pic I'll write notes for it. Get thee to Santos to see the rabbit on a rail of food photos for me.

I am the walrus of food.

External studies - are maddening. I used to work myself into a lather that whatever I'd done for an assignment, everyone else had done something 5 times better, but I had no way of checking. Good luck.

ttfn?

Note: Yes blogger comments are being weird.

I focus the negative energy of the 20 most irritating things of the day and compress it into the short sentence possible.

No lucky socks here...any socks that land on my feet are decidedly unlucky. I opt for the lucky 10 dai-jokkis of beer

19..hurrrrgh...20!

With 10 dai-jokkis, all is possible, even singing.

Although I have no recollection, it all sounds very plausible. Perhaps I could stage a reenactment.

o that it would! someone needs to invent me an alliterator...or an illiterator, more like.

>I think it's time we recognised microwaves as the technonlogical dead end they are.

nuurrrgh, ehella? microwaves and rice cookers are the reason i can get my food done in five minutes.
and i'll bet i can use my microwave to do tokyogoat's handy trick of focusing

>the negative energy of the 20 most irritating things of the day and compress it into the short sentence possible.

try doing that in a le creuset dutch oven!

"so what you're saying is it took five minutes and looks it"

Hmmm clumsy elipsis (you're enjoying this aren't you?) - should read STP=STF > SMF
Where S=Santos, T=Time, P=Photo, F=Food, M=Making. The physical making of, is the mere strawberry on the cupcake of thought, it looks.

No these negative energies in a microwave just leaves them all half baked, a le creuset dutch oven lets them meld together in one concentrated jus of grudge. In a kombi van dutch oven though...

Ahhh, now, as you can see this is a fine example of my blogging expertise - posting fotos obviously isn't the only thing I have problems with... I think my poor old pc needed a laxative last nite either that or a stick of dynamite - it told me that neither of those posts worked - tch tch tch.

Did you see the bit on the telly the other day about the study which found microwaved food was more likely to give the ingestors of the said nuked food stomach and bowel cancer??? But I think that they left out the crucial bits like most food typically nuked is pretty carcinogenic anyway, as opposed to fresh f&v. It will all come out and be bigger than Hardy's and the tobacco industry I am sure.

I really enjoy studying externally because it gives you so much more freedom, but I get terrible pre-exam tension and procrastinate like an absolute procrastinator - there's gotta be a cure for it! Suggestions please...

ta ta fa now, see yas all lader. ab

The manfrotto monopod is ideal for low light hiking photography and thumping.

I've found leaving it all to the last minute creates a sense of urgency.
